La Biennale di Venezia - sito ufficiale. The 53rd International Art Exhibition, titled Making Worlds // Hacer Mundos and directed by Daniel Birnbaum, closed on Sunday, 22nd November 2009. The exhibition has been the most visited art show in Italy since its opening on 7th June. The overall attendance exceeded 375,000 visitors. Making Worlds was devised as a single, large exhibition that articulated different themes woven into one whole.

Festivals Internationaux de Lyon et Rhone Alpes - Biennales de Lyon et d'Art Contemporain. The Lyon Biennale stemmed from a project by Lyon's Museum of Contemporary Art, directed by Thierry Raspail since its inception in 1984. From 1984-88, the Biennale was preceded by an annual event entitled October of the Arts, which ended with the exhibition Colour Alone: The Experience of Monochrome. This retraced the adventure of monochrome, from the beginnings of Impressionism and the historical avant-gardes to topical work by artists ranging from Malevitch to Anish Kapoor.
